Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NEPSE: FOWAD) is a class‑D microfinance development bank operating nationwide in Nepal. Established on 13 September 2012 (2069‑Bhadra‑28) and licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank on 19 March 2013, the institution began formal operations on 17 May 2013. It offers micro‑loans, deposit accounts, micro‑insurance and remittance services to low‑income households, employing both Grameen‑style group lending and its own non‑group model through a network of branch offices across the country. The bank continues the micro‑finance activities of the former FORWARD NGO, which had been serving communities since 2003. Forward Microfinance aims to expand financial inclusion for the poor and underserved populations.
