National Hydro Power Company Limited (NEPSE: NHPC) is a publicly owned Nepali hydropower developer that builds, operates and maintains small hydro projects. The company’s portfolio includes the 7.5 MW Indrawati‑III plant on the Indrawati River in Sindhupalchowk, the 4.5 MW Lower Indrawati project downstream, and the 14.15 MW Lower Erkhuwa project in Bhojpur District. All projects sell electricity to the Nepal Electricity Authority under power purchase agreements. Indrawati‑III has been in commercial operation since 1999, while the other projects are in study or construction phases with expected commissioning in 2023‑2024. NHPC focuses on engineering‑driven project selection, construction planning and operation‑maintenance, and also explores electricity trading opportunities. The company was established to develop small hydropower projects in Nepal and is wholly public‑owned.
