Rawa Energy Development Limited

Rawa Energy Development Limited (NEPSE: RAWA) is a hydropower development company operating in Nepal's electric power generation sector. The company develops and operates small hydroelectric projects under the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer) mechanism. Its flagship project, the Upper Rawa Khola Small Hydropower Project (URKHP), is a 3 MW run-of-river facility located in Khotang District that has been in commercial operation since September 20, 2020. The project holds a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Rawa Energy has a pipeline of additional projects on the Rawa Khola river system, including the Mid Rawa Khola Hydropower Project (2.5 MW, under construction since survey approval in 2017) and the Lower Mid Rawa Khola Hydroelectric Project (4 MW, planned). The company was incorporated on August 16, 2009, as a private limited company and converted to public limited company status on June 28, 2019. It was listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange on July 4, 2023. The company is headquartered in Kathmandu, Nepal.
