Salt Trading Corporation Limited (NEPSE: STC) is a government-linked enterprise that distributes essential commodities across Nepal. Established in 1963 as an iodized salt distributor, the company has expanded to trade a diverse range of products including rice, sugar, flour, tea, spices, lentils, edible oils, ghee, cement, LP gas, detergent, agricultural products like beaten rice and soya chunks, and vehicle tires. Operating through 93 offices, 6 packing units, and approximately 500 employees nationwide, STC maintains an extensive distribution network serving the majority of Nepal's population. The company is managed as a public-private partnership with approximately 79% private ownership and 21% state ownership, playing a critical role in ensuring the supply and affordability of essential commodities throughout the country. The company was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in Kalimati, Kathmandu, Nepal.
